We update our website daily and are constantly putting new information and features on there. We now have a 'Dog of the Day' feature, where we display a different dog's portrait chosen each day from our testimonials. As I write this, Harriet the Beardie cross has that honoured position; I wonder who it will be tomorrow? Send in your testimonial and it could be you.
We also have an Announcements section on the home page which will be updated regularly with the most recent news.
New booking forms for July and September are now in the secure area.

Following on from a very successful Heelwork to Music (HWTM) taster workshop we are now running six week HWTM courses which are held at my field in Saunderton Lee on Monday mornings at 11.30am. The course includes learning clicker training and target training and we spend approximately half of each hour session learning and practising new moves and the second half putting in all to music. I am very lucky to have found a musical co-ordinator - Myrna, who is choreographing the routines for me. This is great fun and mentally stimulating for dog and owner - and a great workout for you and your dog!! Please let me know if you are interested in joining the course.

Since January 2008 I have been the dog trainer/behavioural advisor for Stokenchurch Dog Rescue. I attend the centre once a month and carry out behavioural assessments on new arrivals and design and help the staff implement behavioural programmes for dogs with issues which are preventing them from currently being rehomed. I am also involved in teaching the staff there about dog training and dog behaviour.

I am pleased to announce that Emma qualified as an APDT instructor in April. In order to become an APDT instructor, the candidate has to travel to a test centre and take a course with six unknown dogs, teaching them the down, the leave command and walking to heel. These dogs haven't had any training previously and can be any age or breed. It is a tough assessment but realistic and a good way of assessing an instructor's capabilities. I had every confidence that Emma would pass with flying colours and she did. Well done to Emma. Linda, Carol, Susan and Liz are all working towards gaining the same qualification.

Agility Courses remain as popular as ever and I am now taking bookings for the Newcomers agility course in September. This is on Tuesdays at 2pm. I am doing some 1-2-1 agility sessions throughout the Summer which are £15.00 for half an hour, if you are interested please let me know. Kate is not running a course over the Summer but will again be doing 1-2-1 sessions on various dates and weave workshops on 6th August, weaves are the hardest obstacle in agility so this will be a great opportunity to brush up your skills.

Children are very welcome at the dog clubs and I encourage them to learn how to handle the dog correctly and be involved in the training. They must however be supervised by an adult at all times to ensure the dog is under control (and the child! For small children it may be best to bring a game or book for them to sit quietly with. Do not allow children to touch any dog which it does not know without checking with the owner first - even puppies.
