About Us:
Pauline
I run the Pauline Whittaker Dog Training Schools in Amersham, Bledlow Ridge and Saunderton Lee.I offer puppy, pet and advanced courses as well as fun obedience in Amersham. At Saunderton Lee I run "Fun" Agility courses and Outdoor training which is specifically to help with recalls and general outdoors control. In Amersham, courses are run on a Wednesday morning at Amersham Common Village Hall; and in Bledlow Ridge courses are run on a Monday evening at Bledlow Ridge Village Hall. The club at Saunderton Lee runs on Tuesday and Thursday daytimes. Hannah and I also run regular outdoor recall workshops in Amersham and Aylesbury. I live between Aylesbury and High Wycombe and also offer 1-2-1 training within your own home (in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire) to advance your training and resolve behavioural issues. I am a member of the APDT - Association of Pet Dog Trainers having obtained my membership in April 2003. I am an Assessor for the APDT, and have previously been the Committee Secretary. I am currently studying for the Diploma (Advanced Certificate) in the practical aspects of companion animal behaviour and training with COAPE - Centre for Applied Pet Ethology. I have qualifications in Canine Behaviour Counselling: Theory and Practice, Introduction to Canine Psychology and Advanced Canine Psychology, completed with the Animal Care College, and I am an Associate Member of the college. In addition I regularly attend seminars and workshops on everything from aggression to clicker training, always ensuring I am fully up to date with current knowledge and methods about Canine Behaviour and Training.
I have always lived with dogs, growing up with a Basset Hound and Golden Retrievers and currently own a Border Collie and a Working Sheepdog. I compete in agility with both my dogs.
Hannah
Hannah is a qualified vet who works part-time at Ark House Veterinary Surgery in Leighton Buzzard. She has a particular interest in canine behaviour and has completed the COAPE Advanced Diploma in the practical aspects of Companion Animal Behaviour and Training. Hannah carries out behavioural consultations for Ark House and has helped me run the club at Amersham since 2004. Hannah qualified as a member of the APDT in March 2007 (membership number 00981) and now takes all the courses for me at our Amersham club. She is also an instructor for the agility section of Aylesbury Canine Training Society. She owns two Springer spaniels and competes in agility with them.
Emma
Emma runs the Outdoor courses on Thursdays in Saunderton Lee and is a dog trainer at our Amersham and Bledlow Ridge clubs. Emma is available for 1-2-1 lessons and can give advice to new puppy owners, owners who have general obedience issues and those who require help to resolve recall problems. She works as a dog walker in the Amersham area and owns two dogs Heidi a long haired Dachshund and Dylan a Cocker Spaniel. She trains Dylan in Competitive Obedience and Agility. Emma qualified as a member of the APDT in April 2008, her membership number is 01007.
Kate
Kate has been Head of Agility at Aylesbury Canine Training Scociety for seven years and has also trained dogs in the in the pet dog training side of the Aylesbury club for eight years.Kate started competing in agility with her Jack Russell JJ eight years ago and in that time JJ has achieved the highest accolades in agility and has qualified for all the major finals including Olympia and Crufts. Kate also owns a Parson Terrier called Toddy who competes at grade 6 agility and also competes in Competitive Obedience and Mannie a Working Sheepdog who is 18 months old and just about to start his agility career. Kate says: "I love agility and working with my dogs, we feel like a team when we are running a course. Agility is great fun for dogs, they really do love it!" We are really lucking to have such an experienced agility instructor as part of the team, Kate is taking agility courses for me on a Wednesday afternoon at Saunderton Lee.
Carol
Carol works as a professional dog walker. She has two black labradors and a keen interest in gun dogs and works her own dog. She is also volunteer at The Dogs Trust.Carol is a trainee dog instructor at our Amersham club and is working towards her APDT qualification.
Liz
Liz is an assistant dog trainer at our Amersham club. She is currently studying with COAPE on an intermediate course on dog behaviour. She has three dogs - two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and a black and tan Patterdale Terrier. She trains her dogs in Competitve Obedience.Liz is a trainee dog instructor at our Amersham club and is working towards her APDT qualification.
Linda
Working with my husband in our Production Company I am also a qualified riding instructor with over 40 years of owning horses and dogs and have now joined as a trainee at the Amersham sessions whilst also continuing to train with my own terrier x at Bledlow in the Advanced course and Saunderton in the Fun Agility. I am hoping to qualify as an APDT trainer under Pauline's supervision and follow this with a COAPE course in 2009.Linda is a trainee dog instructor at our Amersham club and is working towards her APDT qualification.
Susan
Susan has worked at Stokenchurch Dog Rescue for five years and is now the Manager there. She has worked with dogs for over 10 years, previously working in both breed and boarding kennels. She owns two German Shepherd Dogs called Kyle and Ciara who were both rescued from Stokenchurch Dog Rescue.Susan is a trainee dog instructor at our Bledlow Ridge club and is working towards her APDT qualification. |
